Promotion of Greek olive oil in Germany

The Minister of Rural Development and Food, Athanasios Tsaftaris met and cooperated with the Greek of origin, German MEP Jorgo Chatzimarkakis.

The purpose of the meeting was the export prospects of the excellent Greek olive oil in Germany.

The Minister of Rural Development proposed the creation of an “Atlas” which is going to refer to the quality of the Greek olive oil and to the producers. Using this “Atlas” you will be able to find all the characteristics and components of the product. The proposal of Mr. Tsaftaris has been warmly received by Mr. Chatzimarkakis.

According to this initiative, the two politicians also discussed the possibility to create  a “guide” which will control the high quality of the Greek olive oil for the customers (professionals and consumers).

Finally, the creation of a web-based platform is also one part of this initiative, this platform could be useful to promote all the necessary data and information, in order to make the Greek olive oil as one of the most competitive products of Greece.
